chicken pot pie

. this could be considered a comfort food in my book . a few facebook friends asked for this recipe so i thought i'd just share it with you all since i was typing it out anyway . it's super yummy and i added a secret ingredient (that i'll share with you) . this makes me sound like an expert cook if i add things to recipes, doesn't it ! this is a go-to meal for me when i need to take someone a meal or if someone is coming over . it's that easy and i can't seem to mess it up . which is huge for me . on with it .

2 cans cream of potato soup
1 can veg-all (i use frozen or stuff from the garden)
2 cups cooked, diced chicken
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 package refrigerator pie crust (you could make your own, but pillsbury is awesome, i've had people ask for my recipe!)
1 egg slightly beaten (optional)
preheat oven to 375 . prepare bottom crust following manufacturers directions . combine first six ingredients in bowl . spoon into prepared crust . cover with top crust and crimp edges to seal . get crafty and slit crusts, or better yet use a cookie cutter to cut out something fun before you lay the top crust on . brush with egg if desired . bake at 375 for 40 minutes . cool for 10 . slice and enjoy .

. did you think i forgot the secret ingredient ? i didn't . just stalling on sharing it, like i said, i don't come up with stuff like this often . cut up small cubes of swiss cheese to put into the pie filling . mmmmm . everything is better with cheese, right ?!

. now that i've typed all this out it feels like i've put this recipe out there before . nope, just checked my recipe tab and i only have 1 that i've ever posted . i'm much more into decorating than cooking, can you tell ?
